Numsurin Meets Hamidi in the Inner Circle 36 Main Event

The Inner Circle 36 takes place on Friday, October 30, at Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium and streams live in Asia primetime, exclusively for members at live.onefc.com. The five-bout striking card is built around fighters trying to recover from losses and others chasing a main roster deal.

Numsurin against Hamidi

The main event is an atomweight Muay Thai fight between Numsurin Chor Ketwina and Akram "La Pepite" Hamidi. Numsurin opened his ONE career with six straight wins on the weekly series, which earned him a US$100,000 contract and a shot at the inaugural ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Title.

At ONE 173 in Tokyo last November, he lost to Nadaka Yoshinari over five rounds. A loss to Pet Suanluangrodyok followed in March. He then beat fellow former title challenger Songchainoi Kiatsongrit by unanimous decision at ONE Friday Fights 160.

Hamidi is a 27-year-old French-Algerian. He comes in off a decision over Watcharaphon Laochokcharoen at ONE Friday Fights 164, and he is dropping to atomweight for the first time.

Fighters coming off setbacks

Xavier Gonzalez faces debutant Exza Wankhongohm at flyweight. Gonzalez won back-to-back knockouts over Payaksurin JP Power and Chatanan Apichat Muaythai, then lost a split decision to Thway Lin Htet at The Inner Circle 30 in September.

In bantamweight kickboxing, Ranma meets newcomer Evan Gambuto. Ranma won his first three ONE fights, finishing Yi Nuo with a first-round body shot at ONE Friday Fights 155 to earn his US$100,000 contract. Katsuki Kitano then stopped him with knees to the body in round three at ONE SAMURAI 2 in August.

Two Moroccan fighters are also looking to rebound. Yassir "Salvador" Rassafi lost a decision to Mongkoldetlek Por Pim-on at The Inner Circle 29 after a late knockdown. Abdelali "Black Diamond" Zahidi returns after nearly two years away, following a stoppage loss to Marat Grigorian.

Streaks and a main roster deal

Tomyamkoong Bhumjaithai has won four straight since losing his first two ONE fights. He faces Rassafi in a bantamweight Muay Thai bout. His run includes a second-round knockout of Watcharaphon Singha Mawynn, a third-round TKO of Bejenuta Maximus and a three-round win over Anar "Atilla" Mammadov in June.

Petkhaokradong Lukjaomaesaithong, who is 6-foot-3, started 1-2 on the weekly series and has since won three straight by unanimous decision. His next opponent is Zahidi, at featherweight.
