Jaqueline Amorim Accepts Six-Month Ban Over Ostarine

· Off the Cage

UFC strawweight Jaqueline Amorim will spend the next several months on the sidelines. Combat Sports Anti-Doping, the organization that independently runs the UFC's year-round testing program, announced that the Brazilian has accepted a six-month period of ineligibility for a violation of the promotion's anti-doping policy.

Amorim, ranked No. 13 in the division, tested positive for low levels of ostarine, an anabolic agent that is banned at all times under the policy. The substance turned up in two out-of-competition samples collected in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on July 29 and August 17, 2026. Because the second sample was taken before she had been told about the first result, the two findings were treated as a single violation.

Contamination rather than intent

According to the statement, Amorim cooperated fully with the investigation. CSAD concluded that the findings were consistent with exposure to low-level contamination rather than intentional use. Investigators cited her testing history, the small amounts detected in both samples, her use of several dietary supplements that had not been third-party tested and certified, and the documented prevalence of ostarine contamination in supplements worldwide. The evidence also did not suggest that the exposure gave her any significant performance advantage.

Under the policy, CSAD has discretion to reduce a sanction when an athlete fully cooperates. Taking everything into account, it settled on six months. The suspension is backdated to August 17, 2026, the day Amorim was notified of her provisional suspension, and it expires on February 17, 2027. Samples in the program are collected by Drug Free Sport International and analyzed at the WADA-accredited laboratory in Salt Lake City, which also tested the supplements in this case.

Amorim's record

Amorim is 31 years old and holds an 11-2 professional record, with every one of her wins coming by stoppage, nine of them by submission. She arrived in the UFC in 2023 as a former LFA strawweight champion and has gone 5-2 inside the Octagon, beating Loma Lookboonmee, Polyana Viana, Vanessa Demopoulos, Cory McKenna and Montserrate Conejo Ruiz, while losing to Sam Hughes and Mizuki. She will be eligible to compete again after the suspension expires on February 17, 2027.
