ONE Eyes Yod-IQ for Haggerty and Ryujin Nasukawa for Nadaka

· PFL, ONE and More

ONE Championship has laid out possible next assignments for the standout winners of The Inner Circle 35 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok on Friday, October 16, and ONE SAMURAI 4 at Ariake Arena in Tokyo the following day. A champion-versus-champion fight for Jonathan Haggerty and a new Japanese challenger for Nadaka Yoshinari are among the options named.

Haggerty and the Muay Thai belt

Haggerty, the ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion, stopped former division king Hiroki Akimoto in the third round in Tokyo. It was his third title defense and earned him a US$100,000 bonus.

The promotion sees a path back to two-sport status for the Briton through reigning ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Yod-IQ Or Pimolsri, of the PK Saenchai stable. Haggerty lost that Muay Thai belt in 49 seconds when Superlek knocked him out at ONE 168 in 2024. ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong showed interest in the pairing at the post-event press conference.

If that fight does not come together right away, ONE points to a rebooking with former ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nabil Anane. Their bout at ONE 173 last year was called off because of injury.

Nadaka kept his ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Title with a head kick knockout of Rifdean Masdor that also earned a bonus. The 25-year-old is now 7-0 in ONE, and his winning streak stands at 43.

A possible next opponent was hinted at during the same press conference: Ryujin "SHINDO" Nasukawa, the 20-year-old younger brother of Tenshin Nasukawa. Ryujin stopped Thongpoon PK Saenchai by second-round TKO in his promotional debut and faces Elmehdi El Jamari at ONE SAMURAI 5. Nadaka has already won once in kickboxing, beating Har Ling Om by unanimous decision at ONE SAMURAI 3.

Wang Junguang's shock win

The biggest surprise came in Bangkok. Chinese veteran Wang Junguang, competing in ONE for the first time in six years, took a split decision over reigning ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Prajanchai Pongsuphan PK, using unorthodox techniques and heavy body work.

That result, according to the promotion, makes him a potential challenger for ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Champion Jonathan Di Bella. A title fight would also give Wang another shot at gold after he narrowly lost to Sam-A Gaiyanghadao in the fight for the inaugural belt in 2019.
