Magomedov Steps In to Face Lucas Gabriel at ONE Fight Night 49
ONE Fight Night 49 has lost three fighters to injury. Alibeg Rasulov, Johan Estupinan and Katsuki Kitano are out of the card, which takes place Friday, November 6, at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok and streams live in U.S. primetime on Prime Video.
New headliner opponent
Magomed Magomedov takes Rasulov's place in the lightweight MMA main event against Lucas Gabriel. Magomedov is 15-0, has finished each of his last five fights and is making his debut on ONE's global stage.
Gabriel, 26, is a BJJ black belt who has gone six fights unbeaten since joining the promotion. He submitted Gadzhimurad Amirzhanov and beat Ok Rae Yoon at ONE Fight Night 44 in June. A win could put him next in line for the lightweight MMA world title, which Christian Lee defends against Tye Ruotolo at The Inner Circle 37, held hours earlier.
Two more replacements
Kongthoranee Sor Sommai steps in for Estupinan in a flyweight kickboxing bout with Taiki Naito. Sor Sommai, 29, is a two-time Rajadamnern Stadium Muay Thai world champion with a 73-20 record, and he beat Yuan Pengjie by unanimous decision in his kickboxing debut at The Inner Circle 32. Naito, 30, is 39-14, holds a Shoot Boxing title and has won three straight. He has already beaten Sor Sommai by unanimous decision under Muay Thai rules.
Nontachai Jitmuangnon replaces Kitano and meets Felipe Lobo in a bantamweight Muay Thai rematch. Nontachai, 27, has 53 career wins and two losses in eight ONE appearances. Lobo, 33, a former title challenger in the division, lost to Nontachai by unanimous decision in May.
