PFL Africa Sets Three Finals for December 12 in Kigali
The Professional Fighters League will crown three PFL Africa champions on December 12 at BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda. Title fights are set for the welterweight, lightweight and bantamweight divisions, and the league's post of October 22 lists $100,000 per division.
Welterweight headliner
Angola's Shido Boris Esperanca (13-2) meets unbeaten Nigerian David Samuel (7-0) in the 170-pound final, which headlines PFL Africa 4: 2026 Finals. Esperanca reached the final with a first-round stoppage in the semifinals. Samuel won his semifinal by decision and kept his record clean.
"My Nigerian roots opened the door for me to compete in PFL Africa, and reaching the final is a special source of pride for me," Samuel said. He credited years of hard work, self-belief and the people who stood by him.
Lightweight and bantamweight finals
At 155 pounds, Nigeria's Patrick Ocheme (10-1) faces Senegal's Demba Seck (11-3). Ocheme got there with a first-round body-kick knockout.
The 135-pound title goes to Liberia's Dwight Joseph (17-3) or Nigeria's Raphael Uchegbu (11-2), a former FCC champion. Joseph advanced by split decision.
Joseph said the final matters to him because he joined the tournament last year and came up short. "I'm getting my hand raised, leaving with that belt, and taking it back to Liberia," he said.
The league also plans Kigali Fight Week with 12 days of activations at Zaria Court. PFL Africa General Manager Elias Schulze said the event will showcase emerging African MMA talent. Broadcasts across Africa are set for SuperSport, Canal+ and SportyTV.
A heavyweight title fight headlines PFL Dubai on Saturday, November 14, at 1 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
