UFC 336 Heads to Toronto's Scotiabank Arena on January 30

· UFC Matchups

The UFC has confirmed where it will open its numbered schedule in Canada next year. While the promotion was still in Edmonton for its latest Fight Night, it announced that UFC 336 will take place on Jan. 30, 2027, at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. No fights have been officially announced for the event so far, and tickets are expected to go on sale next month.

Back in Toronto after two years

The card marks the UFC's return to Canada's most populous city for the first time since 2024. That visit produced a title change, as Sean Strickland lost the middleweight belt to Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 297, and the event's gate set a Canadian record for the promotion at the time.

Strickland has since regained the middleweight championship, but he is currently caught up in what appears to be a contract dispute with the UFC. For now, the main event of UFC 336 remains open. Islam Makhachev has been linked to the card in a possible fight against Carlos Prates, but that pairing has not progressed beyond rumor.

A broadcast change for Canadian fans

Since resuming regular operations after the coronavirus pandemic, when events were held at the Apex and on "Fight Island" in Abu Dhabi, the UFC has typically visited Canada twice a year. UFC 336 also lines up with a shift in how Canadian viewers watch the promotion's biggest nights. Sportsnet is currently the official UFC broadcaster in the country, while numbered events are sold on pay-per-view. Starting in January, numbered cards will move to Paramount+ in Canada, giving fans north of the border the same access to these events as viewers in the United States.

Tickets for UFC 336 go on sale next month. The event is set for Jan. 30, 2027, at Scotiabank Arena, and the UFC has not yet announced any bouts for it.
