Yan Promised a Rolls-Royce Cullinan After Beating Dvalishvili

· Business and Rankings

Petr Yan has been promised a Rolls-Royce Cullinan for retaining the UFC bantamweight title. The owner of the betting brand 1win made the pledge after Yan beat Merab Dvalishvili by unanimous decision at UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi on October 24.

"For this victory, Petr will receive a Rolls-Royce Cullinan from me. Well deserved!" the 1win owner said in a statement the brand shared on social media. There is no confirmation yet that the car has been delivered.

The promise came after a five-round fight at 135 pounds that Yan, the reigning bantamweight champion, had to turn around after losing the opening two rounds.

How the fight went

Dvalishvili took the first two rounds with relentless pressure and wrestling. Yan came back with sharper striking, better takedown defense and damaging body shots, and he won the fifth and final round.

The event was held at Etihad Arena, and the meeting was the third between the two bantamweights. All three judges scored the five-round fight 48-47 for Yan. It was his second win in a row over Dvalishvili.

The UFC named the trilogy fight Fight of the Night, which pays $100,000 to each fighter.

The history between them

Dvalishvili had the better of their first meeting in March 2023, winning by unanimous decision. That loss came in a difficult stretch for Yan, who had lost his bantamweight title to Aljamain Sterling in 2022.

Yan has since rebuilt his position in the division and won the title back before this latest meeting. Against Dvalishvili in Abu Dhabi, he handled the takedown attempts that had troubled him before.
