Next Opponents Proposed for UFC Vegas 123 Winners

· Previews and Predictions

Five winners from UFC Vegas 123, held Saturday, Oct. 31, now have suggested next opponents. The picks come from a single MMA Mania columnist, not from the UFC.

Luana Santos and a crowded bantamweight top

Luana Santos beat Yana Santos, who is no relation, by unanimous decision. She is ranked No. 4 in the women's bantamweight division.

Champion Kayla Harrison is set to meet Amanda Nunes next. Joselyne Edwards, ranked first, is in line for a title fight after that.

That leaves Ailin Perez as the writer's choice. She is on a six-fight win streak and is close to a first title shot. The writer adds that the fight could be the next title eliminator.

Lebosnoyani and the welterweights

Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani stopped Farman Hasanov with a third-round TKO. It was his eighth win in a row and his third inside the Octagon.

The writer says he is slowly drawing attention at welterweight. After the win he called out Jake Matthews, who has an upcoming bout with Tahir Abdullayev later this month. The pick is whoever wins that fight.

Smith and the Holland question

Jacobe Smith beat Randy Brown in the co-main event, winning on the judges' scorecards. He is now 14-0, and 5-0 in the UFC. He asked for Kevin Holland.

Holland is already lined up against Uros Medic at UFC 334, so that fight may not be available yet. The writer suggests Smith wait and see how Medic and Holland turn out before choosing.

Durden gets Alex Perez

Durden returned to the win column against Ode' Osbourne in a back-and-forth fight. The writer calls him inconsistent, at 2-5 over his last seven.

Alex Perez is the suggested opponent. He is 2-4-1 over his last seven, so the two are in similar spots.

Nolan wants Gamrot

Tom Nolan knocked out Renato Moicano in the third round of the main event and should be in the top 10 next week, according to the writer. He then asked for Mateusz Gamrot.

Gamrot is ranked No. 9 and lost to Quillan Salkilld last time out. Mauricio Ruffy, at No. 10, is another option, though Nolan seems focused on Gamrot.

Our view

Two of the five picks depend on other fights. Smith's waits on Holland and Medic, and Lebosnoyani's waits on Matthews and Abdullayev.

The Santos pick holds only if Harrison-Nunes and the Edwards title fight come first, and no dates are given for either. None of this is a matchmaking announcement.
