Perez Hurt in Training, Butler-Bazinyan Takes His Slot
A training injury has cost the Nov. 12 card at Casino de Montréal its original co-feature. Lenar Perez has withdrawn, and Steven Butler against Erik Bazinyan steps in.
The headliner holds
The main event is unchanged. Unbeaten Colombian Jhon Orobio (19-0, 17 KOs) puts his WBA and WBC Continental Americas super lightweight belts on the line against Hendri Cedeno (16-0, 12 KOs) of the Dominican Republic.
A fight rescheduled again
Butler and Bazinyan meet at super middleweight. Butler is Canadian, 38-6-1 with 32 knockouts. Bazinyan, from Armenia, is 32-1-1 with 23 knockouts.
This fight has been rescheduled for the fourth time, and it now moves up to the co-feature of the Nov. 12 card.
Perez out with an injury
Perez is a Cuban cruiserweight with a 17-0 record and 15 knockouts. He was due to defend his WBA Continental Americas title against Artur Ziyatdinov of Uzbekistan, who is 17-3 with 14 knockouts. That fight is canceled.
Promoter Eye of the Tiger announced the changes on Thursday. The injury is described only as one suffered in training, with no word on its nature or on how long Perez will be out.
